The ACT7 is a private, LLC training center established on July 1, 2012.  We offer continuing educational units and professional mentoring and career guidance.  Our trainers are certified and licensed addiction professionals who possess, collectively, over 50 years of hands-on experience, education and knowledge in the addiction counseling field.  Our instructors are dedicated to helping men and women seeking certification or recertification in substance abuse addiction counseling.

 Our Mission

Welcome to the Addiction Counseling Training7 (ACT7) Program.(NAADAC Education Provider #110283)  The mission of the ACT7 Program is to (1) provide quality education training to professionals who serve in the field of substance abuse addiction counseling, and (2) advance awareness, knowledge and skills in the prevention, intervention and treatment of substance abuse and related public health issues.   You are about to embark on a very important journey to becoming a credentialed professional in the area of drug and alcohol dependence.

 Scope of Training

The certificate program is designed to provide participants with the skills necessary to counsel clients in the recovery process and includes, but not limited to, the following topics:

 

  • Clinical evaluation (including intake, screening, assessment, and orientation);
  • Treatment planning;
  • Case management;
  • Referral;
  • Counseling;
  • Client, family, and community education;
  • Documentation (reports and record keeping; and
  • Professional and ethical responsibility
  • All other substance abuse/mental health trainings as needed

 

In addition to training ACT7 sponsors conferences, forums, and other continuing education events that are open to anyone working in substance abuse prevention, intervention, and recovery support.
